Insect Talk and Walk on the Beach
As part of the National Entymological Society’s National Insect Week http://www.nationalinsectweek.co.uk/ FoSB are holding an Insect talk and walk at Shoreham Beach. Sunday June 26th , 2016 – 10:30 to 13:30
This event seeks to explore the familiar and not so familiar insects that live on the rare vegetated shingle habitat of the Shoreham Beach Local Nature Reserve.
This event for beginners and will suit all ages, .
Meet at 10.30am at the Harbour Club to commence with an illustrated talk as an introduction to the types of insect and why they are important to the shingle flora. This will be followed by an exploration of the vegetated shingle habitat on the beach to see what insects can be found and identified..
Many of these insects will also live in gardens and so we will also discuss how we can help and explore insects in your own garden. Please wear clothes suitable for the weather, sun cream etc.. You may want to bring a packed lunch to eat on the beach
Age limits or guidance: Suitable for all ages
