A look back FoSB events in September
September’s Gullfest
On 7 September, The Friends of Shoreham Beach (FOSB) hosted Gullfest on Coronation Green. At least 40 people turned up, so thank goodness that half a dozen Shoreham and District Ornithological Society (SDOS) experts were on hand to show people a range of gulls, waders, egrets, a fly-by kingfisher and lots of sandwich terns.
The event was very sociable with members of different local organisations chatting to each other and members of the wider general public showing an interest in FOSB and SDOS. My thanks also to World of Widewater members for visiting and to Lynn from Brighton RSPB local members group. People visited from as far a field as Epsom. Tony Benton
September’s Beach Clean
A huge thank you to the 70 plus folks and families who came to clean and survey the beach on 15 September in that amazing weather. Also a big welcome to the Focus Group team and the Adur East Lions. Together we cleared 45 bags of rubbish from the beach weighing in at just short of 30kg! So well done all. It was great to see some old friends and to meet lots of new people from Shoreham and beyond. John Charlish
