Tidy Up The Tideline Launch May 2016
FoSB’s new initiative, Tidy Up the Tideline began in a small way with three families coming after school to learn a little about the problem of litter on the beach and to clean the tideline zone around the Shingle Road beach entrance. A competition to collect “Blue litter” was a great success with the children using keen eyes to collect anything made of blue plastic. There was plenty of blue rope ends and string, bottle caps and plastic shavings. Unusual items included a blue handled fork and the fabric and zip from the front of a boiler suit. The children won prizes for their efforts and all agreed they had had fun. TUTT is supported by funds from the HP Beach Clean Up project and the next after school project will be again at Shingle Road on June 15th at 3.30. for more beach clean and more prizes for specific litter ( For more details look at the TUTT page )
