Beloved Garden: A poem about our beach and our FoSB Chairman
BELOVED GARDEN
A lone woman
sowing seeds
on the beach
this bleak, sea licked sprawl
her beloved garden
“mine too”
I say
“yellow horned poppy”
she says
embryonic sparks of life
snuggle into
stoney wombs
to nourish
and flourish
I now long to see
their dainty blooms
and feisty horns
create a welcome
in my minds eye
a shared vision
with this stranger
scattering future delights
as if waving a wand
in slow motion
